Dimitris Platchias
Founder & CEO

Basketball is more than a game—it’s a journey of growth and transformation. At Moa Basketball, we help young athletes develop their skills, character, and confidence in a supportive environment that encourages them to overcome limits and reach their full potential—on and off the court.

With experience in elite basketball and education, I’ve dedicated my life to coaching and personal development. I played at the highest level in Greece, earning a national team invitation at 16, and competed in Men’s D1 basketball in Scotland. I hold a Bachelor’s in Physical Education from the University of Athens, as well as a Master’s and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Glasgow, and have taught at leading universities and secondary schools in the UK.

At Moa Basketball, we combine expert coaching with personalized development to turn challenges into opportunities—empowering athletes to succeed in sport and in life.
